Salvatore Garau : ウィキペディア英語版 | Salvatore Garau
Salvatore Garau is an Italian painter, born in Santa Giusta (Oristano, Sardinia) in 1953. == Biography == Garau graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in 1974. Three years later he joined the Stormy Six avant-garde rock group. They appeared in over a thousand concerts at theaters and festivals across Europe. In the early eighties he devoted himself full-time to his visual research. In 1984 he had his first solo exhibition at the Studio Cannaviello in Milan, followed by numerous exhibitions in some of the best-known galleries in Europe. From then on he devoted himself exclusively to the visual arts. The “discovery” of Garau was due to the intuition of Elena Pontiggia, who mentioned him in Segno as one of the most promising artists of his generation. Since 2000 he has been exhibiting regularly at the Capricorno Gallery. In 2002 he held a major exhibition at the Fondazione Stelline in Milan. In 2003 he presented his work at the Venice Art Biennale. In the same year he exhibited at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. In 2006, in Sardinia, with Ichthys Sacro Stagno, he flooded three consecrated churches by filling the interiors with water and fish from neighboring ponds. In recent years he has written screenplays and made film shorts. Many of his works have been acquired by museums and public institutions, including the Museo d’Arte Moderna in Bologna, the PAC in Milan, the Casa de la Cultura de Bellreguard in Valencia in Spain and the Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Varese, the Musée d'Art Moderne de Saint-Etienne Métropole, to name just a few recent in 2011, the 54° Biennale of Venice, Padiglione Italia. The artist’s works appear in some of the world’s most important private collections.
